Sheera is a quick way to make a sweet dish for any part of the day. It can be an accompanying dish, or had separately. This dish tastes best when it is hot, but can be enjoyed cold.
2 cups of Semolina
2 tablespoons of Ghee
2 tablespoon of sugar (optional if not using condensed milk)
3 tablespoons condensed milk
4 cups of milk/water ( as preferred )
6/8 strands of saffron (soaked in hot water for 8/10 minutes)
1 small can or 200 gram of pineapple
Optional. **Chopped cashew nut, Raisins, Cloves, almonds
1. Heat pan or skillet, add Ghee and warm Add semolina and fry until all the ghee is absorbed
2. Add chopped pineapple and mix lightly until soft
3. Add sugar and mix lightly (if not using condensed milk) Bring milk (and condensed milk) to boil
4. Add saffron to Semolina
5. Add heated milk to pan and stir constantly until milk is absorbed and semolina doubles.
Chef tip: if you like a richer tasting flavor add an additional tablespoon of ghee Mould Semolina into small servings.
